Hafsil AS was established in 2005, in the former locations of Hafslund Metall/Globe. The main product is Water atomised Ferro Silicon metal powder, that are used in Dense Media Separation. The chemistry is closely controlled to a range of 14-16%, so that it is corrosion resistant while retaining its magnetic susceptibility. The grading is closely controlled to a standard specification, or to a specific customer requirement.

The product goes only to export worldwide. Atomised Ferro Silicon is mainly used in the strong growing recycling industry, but also in the mining industry.

The owners of Hafsil AS: Stene Stål Gjenvinning AS and Nordox. Today Hafsil have 15 employees.

Production capacity with 3-shift is aprox. 10.000 tons.
